Giving
Giving is an integral part of Christian discipleship. Making a regular financial contribution to the work of the local church is not only biblical but also a very practical way of standing shoulder to shoulder with the whole church, demonstrating our commitment and support. That is why it is one of our four marks of membership at Christ Church.
Most of the mission and ministry that takes place at Christ Church is funded through the contributions of its members, without the regular giving of church members we wouldn’t be able to fulfill God’s call on us as a church.
The upkeep and maintenance of the fabric of the church is funded through the hire of the church building as a venue for business, local government, charities and community organizations.
The Friends of Christ Church Spitalfields also raised the capital sum for the restoration of the church building and continue to raise money for capital projects including the organ and the restoration of the crypt.
Whilst visitors are not under any obligation to give, we do want to make it as easy as possible for regular members to contribute financially to the mission and ministry of the church. That is why we encourage either regular giving through standing order or tax effective giving during the service.
By far the easiest and most tax-efficient form of giving is to set up a Standing Order. This means you don’t have to think about it every week and it allows us to budget and plan financially over the longer term. You can download a form below or pick one up from the Information Desk in Church on Sundays.
If you would prefer to give regularly during the Sunday service, there are Gift Aid envelopes at the back of the church.
